OUR VISION
Introduction
Somali Social Entrepreneurs fund for Businesses, Social Ventures, Developers and The community action for sustainable solution and stimulating sustainable microbusiness in Somalia.
The Somali Social Entrepreneurs Fund (SOMASEF) is a programme of initially small-scale but then growing investment in sustainable micro-business development in Somalia, one of Africa’s most fragile states. The programme is driven by the passion of Somali businessmen based in the UK, Local Somali experts in Somalia and is aligned with and informed by the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs).
SOMASEF will invest in community infrastructure and facilities, including Agricultural production facilities and TVETS centers. This ambition will be subject to year 1-5 success and the securing of greater funding.
SOMASEF is a key regional player in business consulting and advisory services field within Horn and East Africa region; bridging gaps between the management approaches and its actual implementation plans.
SOMASEF seeks to develop the leadership, managerial, and administrative professional competences of public officials, private sector and third sector personnel through innovation characterized by the capability to be at the forefront of technology and to pioneer advanced methodological approaches, in the continuous efforts to anticipate trends and to provide edge cutting solutions. Together with the capacity to deal with technological innovation, OGSAN developed capacities for identifying and analyzing social innovation in East and Horn of Africa, considering both the new actors and new practices adopted for managing politics, education, health , economic , environmental and social crisis.
Our Mission
- This is to develop social entrepreneurial concepts, Programs and Individuals. This accomplished through our research, design and implementation of initiatives and programs that train individuals and start up community organizations.
- Business owners and future business owners, to develop ideas and achieve self-sufficiency thus creating wealth and jobs. This will reduce the level of poverty for individual homes, communities and so for broader Somali society by creating projects that contribute to community cohesion and community economic sustainability, for example community facilities or educational programme.
Ultimately, as resources permit, capital investment in larger community projects such as modern farming techniques development for crops and Livestock production investment.
In a nutshell, a Social Entrepreneur is a person who is attuned to both business and the big picture; who applies his or her business expertise to create social value; and who provides smart solutions to the community problems by thinking like an entrepreneur. Traditionally, entrepreneurs have trained their focus on products, services and profits. In our case we know entrepreneur can do more and oven expected above and beyond business “as usual,” they leverage their skills and resources to address serious needs, expand their impact and bolster the communities, neighborhoods and services in the place they do business.
